Importantly, this day begins with a walking tour of Skala Eressos where you can meet the local players involved with the festival as well as restaurant and shop owners throughout the village. This orientation will prove to be well worthwhile. This day provides a experience of village life in the area, more as a local instead of a tourist. We will take a walk with our local guide Christina who was born and raised in Mesotopos Village and lived in the U.S. for many years. She will take us on an tour of the inner workings of an authentic, mostly sustainable Greek village. Then, we will go for a swim and have a memorable, freshly made lunch at Marina's taverna on the waterfront in the small village of Tavari. Come hungry because you will be totally indulged by Marina's amazing cooking and hospitality! Then, off to my friend Ronit's Amazones Eco-Land retreat space where we will learn about it's history and mission and observe two wonderful local women make the most delicious homemade loaves of bread. Of course, sampling is definitely in the plan along with locally made wine. Once we return to Skala, you will have some free time to rest, refresh and join us for a group dinner and then over to the opening night festivities of the festival!
